Where there is money there are vulchers. Scams in the domain industry is nothing new and we as honest domainers should not be disheartened by the bad in the industry. The latest wave of scams are presenting themselves through buyers insisting on domain appraisals before a purchase.

The scammer will email you as the domain owner expressing interest to purchase your domain although they have no intention of doing so. They will then convince you into paying for a domain appraisal and wont purchase unless you do.Many are reporting to have been victims to such a scam.

In cases like these the team at Zenchi promotes domainers looking to sell to use initiative, to not be forced into terms and conditions they are not comfortable with by a potential buyer and to stay cautious. If some ones promising a sale but wants a domain appraisal, tell them to deduct it from the total they will be paying or get a deposit. Do not fear to negotiate! We hold the cards as sellers and domainers need to be reminded of that!

The transaction is cited as the highest recorded .org sale price. PokerCompany.com runs a portfolio of other non-.com domains including Craps.net and BlackJack.org.

Very commonly when talking about high end transactions we refer to .com and it is very pleasing to see the sale of a record breaking .org reiterating the important of not just .org but also .net in the industry and their possible re-emergence into the lime light.
